Please advise the leader beforehand of your intention to take part in the walk or event .

Sunday 26th August

Meet at 1pm for a drink at The Thirsty Farmer, Whimple, or at 1.30pm for the start of an easy 6.25 mile walk across farmland and along quiet country roads, skirting Aunk, Little Silver and Clyst St Lawrence. Could be muddy after rain.

 

Sunday 2nd September


 

 Meet at 1.30 p.m. at the Red Lion Inn, Shobrooke (OSGR SS866013) for a 6.5 mile walk on lanes and footpaths through attractive Mid-Devon countryside, returning through part of Shobrooke Park. Contact pub direct if you wish to eat beforehand.

Meet at 1.30pm for a walk on Dartmoor in the Okehampton area - about 6 miles

Recce Walk. Meet at 12.30pm Plume of Feathers, Princetown for a

circular moorland walk of approx 5¼ miles  Lovely views of the moor and South Hessary Tor.  Book: Pub Walks in Dartmoor & S. Devon. P.105.  OS Landranger 191. Okehampton and N. Dartmoor. GR 591 735.    Car   share:  Leave Sowton P&R at 11.30am.

Meet at 1.30pm outside The Colcombe Castle, Colyton for a 5 mile walk. We leave the town alongside the charming River Coly then circle south across valleys and high land in between, with good views down to the estuary of the River Axe on our return. Could be muddy after rain

4 November

Meet at Dawlish Warren Station (some limited parking at station, and plenty nearby) at 1.00pm. Go by train to Teignmouth along the famous sea wall. Tickets £3.10 at time of going to press. Train leaves 1.12pm. Walk back along the seawall, fields and coastal path. 5 miles. More at Dawlish Warren if necessary! Refreshments available along the way or at the end.

Tar Barrel Night at Ottery. For those who are prepared to brave the tar barrels.  Supper afterwards if advised prior by Friday 2 November.  (Remember to wear old clothes and trainers/wellies)

Meet at 1.30 p.m. on the Thorverton Arms (OSGR SS925020) for a 5.5 mile walk up onto the Raddon Hills and back. On a fine day extensive views are available. An optional shorter route is possible if conditions dictate. Book direct with the pub if you wish to eat beforehand.

Meet at 1.30pm outside Colaton Raleigh Church for a varied 5 mile walk over open country and commons. Can be muddy after rain.

 

Sunday 9th DecemberMeet at Tower View Farm, Offwell at 1.00 pm for a 1.30pm start to a walk around the Offwell area, along lanes, footpaths and through woods. Approx 5 miles. There will in parts be some rough hilly ground which will probably be muddy.   Easy car parking

Annual Christmas Mince Pie walk.

Meet at at The London Hotel, Ottery St Mary for a walk in area starting at 1.30pm.   Mince pies or cake and teas afterwards.
