New Year Treasure Hunt 2011 – Meet at 12 noon at The Feathers’, High Street, Budleigh Salterton for a prompt 1pm start.  Please bring boots, torch, water proof cover for question sheet and pencil/pen.  Return to the Skittle Alley at the pub by 4pm.   Please let Brian know if you would like to join him for the Treasure hunt and if you wish to eat Sunday roast at the pub so that he can book a table.

Meet at 1.30pm outside The Cannon Inn Newton Poppleford  for a circular walk, taking in a pleasant reach of the River Otter and the attractive village of Harpford. Approx: 4 miles

Meet at 1.30pm at the far end of StonebarrowNT carpark just to the West of Charmouth OS 390936. Walk to hill behind Morecombelake (views of Golden Cap) then to Golden Cap (views of hill behind Morecombelake), then coastal path and back to Stonebarrow. 6 miles.

Meet at the Honiton Golf Club car park for a 1.30pm start. (We have permission to use the club's car park). Map reference SY174992. The cross roads at the top of hill out of town is 'Tower Cross' turning right into 'Tower Road', A circular walk with a mixture of footpaths and lanes through Offwell and back.  Approx: 4miles.

Meet in the Public Car Park in Hayes Lane East Budleigh for a 4.5 easy walk by River Otter, Otterton, Bicton and back to East Budliegh.

Meet at National Trust Car Park Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock at 1pm for a prompt start at 1.30pm. (Please note non NT members will have to pay.) Circular coastal walk via WestBay with lovely sea views. Tea in beachside cafe on return.

Recce walk - Grimspound. OS Explorer OK 28 Dartmoor -  Grid Ref: SX680816. (Walking book – 50 walks in Devon P.70)  Meet at 11.30am Bennett’s Cross car park on B3212.Circular walk on open moorland, sweeping valleys and ridges.  Approx 6 miles.

Ring if you need to car share from SowtonPark and Ride. Suggest bring a packed lunch to eat en route at a suitable spot.

Meet by the church in Stoodleigh, Mid-Devon, OSGR SS922188 for a 1.30p.m. start of an enjoyable  5.5 mile walk through varied country. Open views and patches of woodland.  May be wet in places. There should be adequate parking on the lane by the church.

Meet at 1.00pm at the White Hart, Moretonhampstead.

7 miles through countryside, moorland, and woods, to Fingle Bridge (halfway round) where a brief stop for refreshments, at the Inn, and a seat by the river, may be had. Good views from Cranbrook Castle and Butterdon Down.

Meet at the Crown & Sceptre, Newton St Cyres, OSGR SX880980 for a  1.30p.m. start of a 7.5 mile walk through varied farmland and woods, and passing by the transmitter station that is a prominent landmark in views from the A30 and points to the south-east.   Likely to be muddy in parts.   There is a public car park off the side road on the south side of the A377 opposite if not using the pub.

Meet in the Main Car Park at Killerton (down towards the exit) at 1.30 p.m. for a 5 mile walk in the area.  Possible mud factor!  Tea afterwards in the restaurant.

Meet at Fisherman’s Cot Hotel, Bickleigh or to start walk promptly at 1.30pm OS Landranger 192 map ref 938078. A circular walk in the Bickleigh area of 5.5 miles.
